Core Beliefs
Out of love for Jesus and resting our Faith in Him we will strive to obey all of the commands He set forth, through the empowering of the Holy Spirit.  There are many commands of Jesus that are for our benefit and spiritual protection, but here are the core beliefs from the New  Testment (New Covenant) for this congregation.

God deeply loves us

Romans 5:6-8, John 15:13, 1 John 3:16, John 3:16, 1 John 2:4, 1 John 3:1, Eph. 2:4

Jesus Christ is the Head of this assembly

Matt. 28:18, Phil. 2:9-11, Matt. 16:18, Ephesians 1:22, Col. 1:18

The Bible is the absolute truth and inspired word of God

John 1:1, 2 Tim. 3:16

The Bible teaches us in the Godhead existing in One Eternal, Transcendent, Omnipotent, Personal God, revealed in Three Persons: And that each person, Father, Son, and Spirit is fully God and inseparable from one another.

Gen 1:26; 3:22; 11:7; Isa 6:8, Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:23, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 8:58, John 10:30, John 20:28, 29, 1 Timothy 3:16, 1 Timothy 4:10, Titus 2:10, 2 Peter 1:1, 1 John 5:7, Revelation 22:13

The Bible teaches us in Jesus Christ, God in Human flesh, who came to this world to die for our sins and who was resurrected from the tomb.

1 Corinthians. 15: 1-8

The Inspired Word teaches us that all people have sinned and are lost and without hope apart from obeying Jesus.

Rom. 3:23; 6:23, Acts 4:12

The Inspired Word teaches us that salvation is only available by the Grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. This is a free gift for all people who obey Christ as Lord and Savior.

Eph. 2:8-9

The New (Testament) Covenant teaches us what must we do to be saved

The New Testament is a letter, with many parts. We must consider each section of equal importance.  Each of these commands matter.  We do not believe baptism only saves nor do we believe faith alone saves (James 2:24).

1. Belief and a continuing faith in Jesus. Mark 16:16, John 3:16, Heb. 11:6

2. Confession that He is Lord and Savior . Matt. 10:32-33, Rom. 10:9

3. Repentance (acknowledging sin and turning from the sinful life) (It is also hating the things that God hates and loving the things that God loves) Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, Matthew 3:8, Acts 26:20

4. Baptism by immersion. Matt. 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, Gal. 3:27, Romans 6:4, Col. 2:12

5. If we are faithful until death. Luke 13:24, Heb. 12:1, 1 Corinthians. 9:24-27, 2 Corinthians. 5:9, Rev. 2:10

We model after the early Christians by participating in communion weekly (after personal examination)

Matthew 26:26-28, Luke 22:14-20, Acts 2:42, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-30

The Bible teaches us in the second coming of Jesus.

Matthew. 24:36, Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians. 4:16, Rev. 21:1-5

The Word teaches us that God owns everything.

We are just managers.  We are to personally evaluate the way we spend the money with which God has entrusted us.  God is very clear in the Bible that He wants us to be good stewards.

Lev. 25:23, Deut. 10:14, Psalm 24:1, Psalm 50: 10-12, 1 Corinthians. 10:26, Haggai. 2:8, Ezekiel 18:4, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 Chronicles 29:12, 1 Tim. 6:6-10, Malachi 3:6-10, Matt. 6:19-34, Gen 14:18-20, Matthew 23:23, Mark 12:17, 1 Corinthians. 16:2, 2 Corinthians. 9:6-12, Hebrews 7:8 *

The inspiration of scripture teaches us that we are to be accountable to church leadership.

Hebrews 13:17, Titus 1:5-9

The Word says we are to be teachable and to diligently search the scriptures.

Acts 17:11, John 8:31, John 8:47.

Our love for Jesus compels us to show love and concern for all people and to share our faith and the hope we have in Jesus.

Matt. 28:19, Acts 26:18, John 15:12

The Inspired writers expected Christians to be called out of the world.

We are to think, act and live differently than the rest of the world. We are to strive to set our goals according to God's priorities. 1 Peter 2:9-11, 2 Corinthians. 7:1, Phil. 2:12-13

We are to keep in step with the Holy Spirit

Gal. 5:25, Rom. 8:11, Matt. 28:20

Jesus commanded us to teach people to obey all that Jesus commands.
Matt. 28:20

We do this in two different ways:

1.By formative teaching

We teach from God's inspired Word, the Bible. Heb. 4:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:16

2.By mutual accountability

Why? because we love each other, we have to correct a brother or sister in Christ who is sinning willfully to help restore them back on the path to Christ! Matthew 18: 15-17, 1 Corinthians. 5:1-13, Titus 2:11-15, Rev. 2:20-21, 1 Corinthians. 6, Gal. 5: 16-21, Rev. 2:18-22, 1 Tim. 5:20, Acts 20:28, 1 John 3

The second reason to not affect the rest of the church by validating their sin.

Steps of this Accountability Process:  Jesus has set it up like this (Matthew18), Paul affirms it in 1 Corinthians 5

Step One - Confront one on one.  If no Repentance…
Step Two - Take one or two Christians along for evidence of the charge.  If no Repentance…
Step Three - Communicate with leadership of the Church
Step Four - Leadership will confront the person to explain to them that if they continue in this sin, the congregation will be notified, and will disassociate with the disobedient person. The only exception for association will be for the purpose of restoring the repentant person to fellowship.

The New Testament says all Christians are priests.  All Christians have the opportunity to come boldly to the throne of God.

1 Peter 2: 5, Matt. 27: 50-51, Heb. 10:19-22, Heb. 4: 15-16

Christians are to be living sacrifices. Our examples can either lead someone to Jesus or lead someone away from Jesus! Our activities must never weaken the scriptural convictions of another Christian! Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and must not be defiled.

Romans 12:1-2, 1 Peter 4:1-6, Mark 9:42, 1 Corinthians. 6:19-20, Romans 14:13-21

The Inspired Word says grace is not an excuse to sin.

Romans 6:12, Jude 4, Titus 2:11-15, Heb. 6:4-6, Heb 12:14-15, Galatians 5:13, 2 Corinthians 6:1

Jesus expects us to have a deep prayer life.

Matt. 6:5,6 1 Thessalonians. 5:17, James 5: 13-16

The Word tells us to set our minds on things above and to look with excitement towards the Prize.

2 Tim. 4:7-8, 2 Corinthians. 4:17-18, Col. 3:1-3

Jesus said there is hell and Jesus wants no one to go there.

2 Peter 2:9, Matt. 13:36-43, Luke 16:19-31, Matt. 10:28, Jude 7

Children and grandchildren belong to God and are tremendous blessings! We believe that it is primarily the family's responsibility to train their children through teaching, and the example of parents. This church will help give you the tools and encouragement to become Godly trainers of children.

Deut. 6:4-9, Psalm 127:3, Eph. 6:4, 3 John 4

Our focus should be on God and people and not on buildings and numerous programs.

Acts 2:42, Acts 7:48, 1 Corinthians. 6:19

We desire to be consistent in quiet time alone with God. We will continue to evaluate how busy we become and what our first love is!   We believe Satan will try to make us be busy, even in the good things, to keep us from a relationship with Jesus, our family, and church.

Psalm 46:10, Mark 6: 30-32

God has given everyone gifts and talents and He expects us to use them for His glory.

1 Corinthians. 12:4-6, Eph. 2:10, 1 Peter 4:10

The Word tells to be consistent in fellowship with other believers

Hebrews. 10:24-25

Scripture says we are never to take another believer to court.  The Church has been set up to be the arbiter if disputes arise.

1 Corinthians. 6:1-8

Scripture says marriage is a covenant. God himself created the universal law of marriage in the Garden of Eden, therefore we believe that marriage is part of God’s CREATED ORDER. We believe marriage, based on Gen 2:24, is between one man, and one woman, till death.

Gen. 2:24, Proverbs 2:17, Malachi 2:13-16, Matthew 5:32, Mark 10, Luke 16:18, Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11,  1 Corinthians 7:39, Ephesians 5:22-33, Hebrews 13:4.

Scripture says marriage is between a man and a woman. The Bible warns against the behavior of homosexuality.  It is scripturally incorrect to have same sex marriage

Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians. 6:9, Jude 7

Scripture says remarriage is biblically acceptable only for those whose spouses have died, and only to those “in the Lord.

Romans 7:3, I Corinthians 7:39

Scripture says Christians should only marry Christians.

II Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 7:39
